“A Day of Prayer” at Holy Cross
Saturday Days of Prayer at Holy Cross are created for groups of adults or young people. The programme for most groups follows the story of the Celtic Church in the Dark Ages (the Age of Saints) and then looks at life today from a Celtic Christian perspective that includes concern for creation, the environment and justice and peace. Use is made of digitally projected pictures. Sound and lighting enhances the plain simplicity of the chapel. The day includes worship, Scripture reading, discussion and quiet meditation and usually ends with Holy Communion.

There needs to be between 15 and 25 people for the day which begins at 10am and ends at 4pm. Lunch, from 12.30 until 1.30, is in the adjacent Café, booked as you arrive. There will be time to explore the harbour and the shops. Refreshments are provided during the day. The Chapel, kitchen and toilet are upstairs above the Town Museum and so disabled access can be difficult.

The group leader needs to discuss with David the theme, the needs of the group and the cost of the day. A warm welcome awaits you at Holy Cross so that your group really enjoys a day of prayer together in our lovely harbour town:

The July session is being run by a group from Bristol on Saturday 16th July and is being paid for by the visitors. Anyone from Watchet is welcome to join them. Contact David Ireson for more details.
