The quality of teaching is at least good in three out of every four lessons, which is a high standard compared with the national picture;
Pupils make very good progress in English, Mathematics, Science and Information and Communication Technology, they enter the school with below average attainment and leave the school having reached standards that are above the expectation for their age;
The school’s provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is very good;
Pupils are very well behaved, get on very well together, and display very good attitudes to learning;
The school’s provision for extra-curricular activities is excellent;
The school’s links with the community are excellent.
Knights Templar First School is a very good school. It has many strengths which far outweigh the weaknesses. The school is a very significant asset to the community it serves
During the OFSTED Inspection, the School also underwent a Denominational Education Inspection. The Inspector concluded that:
Knights Templar Church of England/Methodist Voluntary Aided Community First School provides its pupils with a very good quality of education in respect of their spiritual and moral development.
The good relationships in the school and the care and attention given to the welfare of the pupils by a dedicated and hard working staff bear witness to the strong Christian ethos of the school.
